Neuro-Affirming Haircare
(At this time, I am not accepting new kids and teens.)
What is neuro-affirming haircare?
Neurodiversity is the diversity of human neurocognitive functioning. A neuro-affirming hairstylist is someone with training and knowledge about neurodivergence and sensory processing differences. With this knowledge, the stylist is able to understand and support a diverse clientele.
This approach accepts you as you are.
Whether you’re neurodivergent or sensory sensitive, you don’t have to mask with me.
To be neuro-affirming is to be inclusive and honor diversity.
I view neurodivergence as a variation rather than a disorder. Like hair or eye color varies from person to person, so does our neuro-functioning.
Note: Neuro-affirming hairstylists provide supportive environments - they do not perform therapy.
